Hangtime Comedy Night

Join us for our last comedy show of the season under The Hangtime on Thursday, September 19th! Homebrewed Comedy and host Mike Peters get the show started at 7pm. The kitchen will be serving up delicious food and as always, there will be plenty of wine and local craft brews!

This is a FREE event- no tickets or reservations required.

About the comedians:
Kenneth McLaurin (headliner)
Kenneth McLaurin has long gone by the moniker "The Funniest Person You've Never Heard Of," but because of the success of his freshman album, "Cuttin' Up, Comedy at The Shop," he now adds the title of most listened to person on Spotify in the Village of Ithaca. Witty, clever, Insightful and sometimes shocking, but always funny is what you get with McLaurin.

Cindy Arena (feature)
Rochester comedian Cindy Arena has only been at it a few years, but she's already made a name for herself as a fan-favorite. A regular at Comedy at the Carlson, Arena was named the Funniest Person in Rochester in 2018. A semifinalist in Buffalo's Funniest in 2019, Arena has opened for Dana Goldberg and Marcella Arguello and has become a regular around New York City.

Mike Peters (host)
Mike Peters, a Binghamton comedian, specializes in self-deprecating, observational humor. A contributor for Funny or Die, Peters is the founder of Homebrewed Comedy. He hosts at the Syracuse Funny Bone and Wise Crackers in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., and won the Utica Brews Laugh Contest and Uptown Roast Battle. He’s opened for Super Troopers’ Rabbit, Erik Stolhanske, Gilbert Gottfried and Greg Fitzsimmons. Peters produces shows all over New York and hosts his weekly podcasts, On the Mic with Mike Peters and It’s About Time: A Sopranos Watch Podcast.

About the comedians:

Jesse Winterhalter
Jesse Winterhalter is comedian from Buffalo N.Y. In addition to headlining his own shows, he worked with some of the country's best comics, including Colin Quinn, Big Jay Oakerson, Robert Kelly, Kurt Metzger and many others. He’s performed at The National Comedy Center in Jamestown, N.Y., and a variety of comedy clubs around the country. He is also on the "Bourbon Legends" podcast and runs a weekly show at Milkies on Elmwood.

Eric Basile
Eric Basile has been performing stand-up comedy in Western New York since 2016. They have worked with comedians such as Brian Netzel, Gab Bonesso and was once told by James Earl Jones that they look like “a Chekhov character.” Basile is hosting a variety show called Endless Laughter, featuring a mix of comedians, rock bands and the occasional disgruntled roadie storming the stage mid-show. When not performing, Basile enjoys drawing really cool pictures of really cool skulls.

Mike Peters

Join us for a Valentine's Comedy Night at Treleaven on Wednesday, February 14 at 8pm. Tickets are $20 per person and are sold in quantities of 2, 4, or 8. Homebrewed Comedy has a great lineup featuring Steve Wrigley of New Zealand to headline the show.

Dinner Reservations:

If you plan on coming for dinner prior to the show, reservations are required as seating is limited. Dinner is available from 5:00-7:30pm. Please give the winery a call at 315-364-5100 to speak to someone about reserving a table for dinner. From 7-9pm we will be offering a smaller, tapas-style menu for small bites during the show.

About the comedians:

Paul Spratt (headliner) has worked in clubs in the tri-state area and scored well in comedy competitions and festivals. Before moving to New York, Spratt began honing his craft in Scranton, Pa. Spratt recorded his first full-length comedy album, “F**k Yeah! Paul’s Here,” in 2017. He’s been featured on Comcast and Sirius XM. He performs at comedy clubs all over the East Coast and is a regular at the Funny Bones in Hartford, Conn., and Albany, N.Y., and Wise Crackers in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

Ryan Garcia

Ryan Garcia is a Rochester-based comic who's performed all over the area in Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse and New York City. He won R.I.T.'s Funniest Comic in 2019, performed at sold-out Fringe Festival shows and was a semifinalist in Rochester's Funniest Person in 2019. Hot, humble, and good at writing his own bios, Garcia can be seen performing on shows all over the state, including Rochester's Comedy at the Carlson.

Kai VonDoom 

Kai VonDoom’s likeability, work ethic and ability to find humor in taboo subjects have helped her become a staple in the Rochester comedy scene. She’s opened for Orlando Jones, Shuli Egar and Justin Lawson, and she could write a novel based on the DMs she’s gotten from creepy guys.

Sean Day (headliner)

Sean Day is a Rochester comedian and former co-host of Hate This Podcast. Working consistently in Rochester, Buffalo and Syracuse, Day is becoming an area favorite. He was named Rochester’s Funniest Person in 2019 and is a regular at Comedy at the Carlson. Day has opened for Harland Williams and Tim Meadows. 

Abdul Hadi

The funniest Ethiopian you've ever met, Abdul Hadi is a favorite in Syracuse. He won the Comedy and Chill competition in Syracuse, reached the semifinals of Rochester’s Funniest Person in 2021, hosts at the Syracuse Funny Bone and brings a pleasant mix of self-deprecating humor and a love of the finer things in life -- like Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Hadi is able to make even the simplest things in life funny. 

Stephen Brown

Stephen Brown is a comedian from Binghamton who is way too open for his own good. A former musician and a father of three boys, Brown is a fantastic story-teller with years of ammunition. He’s able to turn the most embarrassing situations in his life into comedic currency for everybody to enjoy

About the comedians:

Ellen Doyle (headliner)

Ellen Doyle was raised in Scranton and currently resides in Los Angeles. She’s been featured on stages across the United States, including The World Famous Comedy Store in Los Angeles and the Gotham Comedy Club in New York City. She performed at the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland, the World Series of Comedy and headlines shows all across the country – really putting that dance degree to good use.

Andy Kuhn

A Rochester comedian, Andy Kuhn has performed all over the northeastern United States. A new dad and a familiar face in the Rochester scene, Kuhn has hosted shows for Pat McGann and Shane Gillis and worked with Andrew Schulz, Jessimae Peluso, Dov Davidoff and Rich Voss. He uses his dark humor to the recreational activities of his past with his responsibilities as a father beautifully. 

Marc Hoover

Marc Hoover got his start in stand-up in 2019 and has been one of the hardest-working comedians in Binghamton ever since. A member of the Army for six years, a former police officer and now a part of the National Guard, Hoover is armed with a life’s worth of stories and he’s finally found an outlet that doesn’t include a gun and a haircut. You don’t need to salute him. A few chuckles will do.

About the comedians:
Dario Joseph (headliner)
Dario Joseph got his start in comedy in 2011 and worked all through New York City for four years before coming back to Rochester. Joseph has opened for Brian Posehn, Ari Shaffir, Kurt Braunholer and Iliza Shlesinger and performs anywhere he can. He was Rochester’s Funniest Person in 2014 and was a Cleveland Comedy Festival Finalist in 2016. Joseph produces shows in the Rochester area and he’s the co-host of the podcast Refined Taste with Dario and Chris.

Bill Lake
A former contributing writer for David Letterman and Craig Ferguson, Bill Lake is a host at the Syracuse Funny Bone, performed yearly at the Binghamton Comedy Crawl and is a founder of the Boho Comedy Club in Binghamton. He’s performed at the Salem Comedy Festival, the Rubber City Festival, the Asheville Comedy Festival, the Cape Fear Comedy Festival, the Plano Comedy Festival and North Carolina Comedy Festival. One of Binghamton’s strongest comedians, Lake uses his smart writing to entertain audiences all over the upstate area. He made the finals of Buffalo’s Funniest Person in 2021.

Greg Owens
Greg Owens is a Philadelphia transplant who moved to western New York to raise his family. He’s been entertaining audiences with his sardonic takes on suburban life, teenagers and middle age ever since. He recently left the corporate world because making laughs is way more enjoyable than making money. Owens has featured for Bobby Collins, Bobby Slayton, Jimmy Shubert, Moody McCarthy and Earl David Reed

Join us for our final barrel room comedy show on Thursday, March 23 beginning at 8pm. Tickets are $10 per person and are sold in quantities of 2, 4, 6, or 8. Homebrewed Comedy has a great lineup featuring Sarah Benson.

Mike Peters (Host) - Mike Peters, a Binghamton comedian, specializes in self-deprecating, observational humor. A contributor for Funny or Die, Peters performed at the Funny Bone in Syracuse, the Greenwich Village Comedy Club in New York City, won the Utica Brews Laugh Contest and Uptown Roast Battle and opened for Super Troopers’ Rabbit, Erik Stolhanske, and Gilbert Gottfried. Peters produces shows all over New York and hosts his weekly podcast, On the Mic with Mike Peters.

Sarah Benson (headliner): Sarah Benson is one of the strongest comedians in Rochester. She came up through the Rochester scene before spending a few years in Denver. Benson has performed across the country, working at the ComedyWorks in Denver, the Helium Comedy Club in Buffalo, the Comedy Bar in Toronto and The Improv in Orlando, Fla. She's hosted monthly shows in Denver and Rochester and opened for Pete Holmes, Chris Kattan and The Grawlix.

Shirelle Kinder: Shirelle “Gator” Kinder has graced the Rochester comedy scene with her special brand of anecdotal humor since April. A finalist in the 2018, 2019 and 2021 Funniest Person in Rochester competitions, Gator entertains audiences with active storytelling, her complete and utter shamelessness, as well as free advice on one-upping cat-callers and unconventional funeral planning. Give her five minutes of your time and who knows what kind of knowledge you’ll walk away with?

Dinner Reservations:

The kitchen will be offering a specialty Valentine's menu prior to the show. The cost of dinner is $65 per person and includes an appetizer, soup or salad, main entree, and dessert. Please call the winery if you wish to make a reservation for dinner.
